April, 23rd. 2003, Northern Iraq, Southern outskirts of Kirkuk.
While the Kurds are returning to their former neighbourhoods,
Iraqis are burning down 'their' houses and belongings to prevent
them to recapture them. (44)

April, 18th. 2003, Northern Iraq, Near Kirkuk. Approx. 2500 unidentified
graves have been found, only few(8) with a proper stone. A shepherd has
been an eye-witness during the killing of mostly Kurds in 1991, as a young
boy the soldiers allowed him to stay, according to his story many people
where executed and some even buried alive, he also said an Iraqi officer
had been executed, and some of the people from his village. At that time
it was already a graveyard for probably victims of the Iran-Iraq war. (41)

a US troops checkpoint, several incidents have made both sides very
suspicious to each other. (43)

April, 15th. 2003, Iraq, Bagdad. Locals in bagdad gather before an US
Checkpoint, asking for basic needs and a possible phone connection. (40)

April, 14th. 2003, N-Iraq, Tikrit. Iraqi's last supected stronghold appears
to be left by most Iraqi soldiers, during clearing the industrial area's US
Scout's kick into a painting of Saddam while he is watching from another one. (38)

April, 14th. 2003, N-Iraq, Tikrit. During the evening Troops inspect every
car passing by on weapons or hostile attacks. A man is arrested because in
his car were 16 AK 47 automatic rifles found, and some handgrenades, the
man said he wanted to protect himself from looters with these weapons. (39)

April, 14th. 2003, N-Iraq, Tikrit. During weapon inspections in passing
vehicles, whole families are put on the ground and busses being searched,
in this bus 2 gun's where found, nobody claimed to be the owner. (37)

April, 11th. 2003, N-Iraq, Kirkuk. after the joy of freedom, the Iraqi
forces answer from less than 15 km away, a grenade hits a house killing
two people and injuring several others, this boy survived but is in a shock. (34)

April, 11th. 2003, N-Iraq, Kirkuk. Only 15 km to the south, Iraqi forces
stop the peshmerga's at a town called Alrieaedw. During gun fire a
peshmerga got a bullet in his head and is brought seriously injured
to the first hospital. (35)

April, 11th. 2003, N-Iraq, Kirkuk. The main room of the Hospital in Kirkuk
is filled with people injured by grenades from the last days, in one hour
today 5 wounded arrive. (36)

April, 11th. 2003, N-Iraq, Kirkuk, after the city has been freed from
the Baath regime, people enjoy their freedom and start looting
extensively. Everything is taken or destroyed by the people, even the
Pepsi Cola factory, which was owned by one of Saddam Hussein's sons. (31)
